IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Maxine Helen
(Decheney) Aishe
August 8, 1943 – February 24, 2025
Maxine (DeCheney) Aishe passed away peacefully on February 24, 2025 after a life made rich by family and friends. Being born on August 8, 1943, Maxine was 81 years young. Maxine retired from Dura Automotive after 32 years. During that time, she made a lot of friends that she stayed in touch with even after retirement. Maxine continued to be active in her retirement years spending time either in the yard or woods working on projects or taking regular walks by the Muskegon River.
Family and friends meant the world to Maxine. She always enjoyed family get-togethers, holidays, and Sunday dinners going out of her way to make sure things were just perfect. She was always ready to lend a helping hand or share a smile with anyone. Her smile and laugh were infectious. People gravitated to Maxine and some considered her a second mom. She couldn't have asked for a better circle of friends over the years, taking fishing trips, smelt dipping weekends, hunting for morels, attending craft shows, or sharing a beer during those spontaneous moments when someone visited her at home. In the last 16 years, she most enjoyed spending time with her granddaughters. They kept her busy as they baked goodies, played ball in the yard, shared laughs over Farkel or CrazyBee Rummy, and allowed them to "do" her hair. She also enjoyed the hobbies of fishing with her husband and watching the Tigers play ball.
Maxine was married to Bill for nearly 59 years. They married on April 16, 1966. Together, they made so many wonderful memories and raised their children with an enormous amount of love. On her final day, she contently looked at Bill and said, "I will miss seeing your face every day." Maxine was predeceased by her parents Adren and Helen DeCheney, siblings Adrian, David, and Carol and her chosen family Monty and Sue Doornbos. She is leaving behind her husband William (Bill), daughter Jodie (Mark) McGarry, son Rodger (Becky) Aishe, chosen daughter Monica (Travis) DeHoop, sister Barb (Dennis) Baker, grandchildren Rylann and Rachel Aishe and Paula Hunter, and many nieces and nephews. She also is leaving behind three loving sister-in-law's (Pat, Darlene, Sharon) and one brother in-law (Ben).
Maxine was one of the sweetest people ever and she will be sadly missed but never absent from our hearts.
