Johnson, Maxine Helen Maxine Helen Johnson, age 82 of Fremont, passed away Tuesday, March 28, 2006 at her home following a short illness. Maxine was born on September 28, 1923 in Fremont to William Daniel and Florence Margaret (Page) Smith and later married Paul Johnson on July 2, 1945 in Fremont. Maxine has been a lifelong resident of the Fremont area where she was active member of the Fremont Christian Church, Disciples of Christ and had served as a elder, deacon, and sang in the choir for many years. She had enjoyed bowling and bowled in a league until the age of 81. She had enjoyed golfing, tennis, dance and had played corenet in dance band before her marriage. She had worked in the claims department of Fremont Mutual Insurance Company until her retirement in 1988. She is survived by her husband, Paul Johnson of Fremont; her daughters, Mary Louise (Robert) Robillard of Grand Haven; Patricia Johnson of Fremont; her niece, Jan (Ric) Ferguson Burch of LeRoy, Michigan; her companion, Sarah. She was preceded in death by her sisters, W. Louise Coburn and Dorothy Ferguson. Following her wishes, cremation has taken place.
