Laramie, Melvin R. Melvin R. Laramie, age 65 of Grand Rapids , formerly of Sault Saint Marie, passed away Monday at his home following a short illness. He was born on September 20, 1937 in Sault Saint Marie to Walter and Lena (Meyers) McCoy and moved to the Grand Rapids area in 1966. He had worked at the Enamelite Company in Grand Rapids for 30 years where he was a painter and also worked at the Jolly Roger Ice Rink in Grand Rapids for 15 years. He had been very active in speed skating and in-line skating all his life. He is survived by his children, Edith Laramie and Mike Goldston of White Cloud; Tina (David) Hamel of Grand Rapids; Shelly Hole & Terry Southerland of Grand Rapids; Melvin (Joy) Laramie Jr. of Grand Rapids; Shirl Ann Hole of Grand Rapids; 13 grandchildren; former wife, Shirley Hold of Grand Rapids; his cousins, Ruth (Gaylord) Janes; Marie; Toby Junior (Connie) Tyler; Jack Tyler. Funeral services were held on Friday, December 6, 2002 from the Crandell Funeral Home White Cloud Chapel with Pastor Junior Tyler presiding with interment in the Chubbuck Pinewood Cemetery .
