Michael Ross Ackerman, age 59 of White Cloud, passed away Saturday, July 26, 2003 at his home. Michael was born on July 14, 1944 in Alberta Lee, Minnesota to Orlando Donald and Marjorie (Hynes) Ackerman and was united in marriage to Diane R. Katnik on October 1, 1966 in Iowa Falls , Iowa . He was an owner-operator of a truck and trailer with the Associated Truck Lines until his retirement and was a member of the Fremont Moose Lodge #1555. He enjoyed golfing, camping, boating with his friends, especially with his children and grandchildren. He also enjoyed farming and operating heavy equipment. He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Diane; his daughters, Melinda (Bob) Wilk; Lori Cruzan; his grandchildren, Justin, Caleb, and Caitlin Wilk; Madeline and Isabelle Cruzan; his sisters, Mary Lee (Chuck) Amberg of Bricelyn, Minnesota; Judy Barnes of Bricelyn, Minnesota; Kathleen (Derald) Greenfield of Bricelyn, Minnesota; Melisse Storvick of Bricelyn, Minnesota; his brothers, Lon (Judy) Ackerman of Warrenton, Georgia; Rick Ackerman of Frost, Minnesota; Greg (Pam) Ackerman of Minnetonka, Minnesota; many nieces and nephews.. He was preceded in death by his parents, Orlando and Marjorie Ackerman and his brothers, Philip Ackerman and Joel Ackerman. Funeral Mass Services were held on Wednesday, July 30, 2003 from the St. Joseph Catholic Church in White Cloud with Rev. Father Tony Russo presiding with interment in the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery . Friends may consider Hospice of Michigan Newaygo County or the American Cancer Society for memorial contributions.
