Michael Alen Banfill, age 78, of Hesperia passed away on Friday, January 28, 2022, at the Newaygo County Compassion Home in Fremont. Mike was born on October 20, 1943, to James and Naomi Banfill and had worked as a manager at Smithfield. Mike was an avid ham radio operator, enjoyed fishing and video games, and taking care of his cats. Mike is survived by his children, Michael Scott (Juliana) Banfill of Muskegon and Michelle Tarasiewicz of Fruitport; brothers, James Banfill of Grandville and Gene Banfill Cedar Springs; grandchildren, Ciera (Cody) Young and their daughter Natalie, Elise Tarasiewicz, Emma Tarasiewicz, and Macey Tarasiewicz. He was preceded by his parents, James and Naomi; his brother, Gary Banfill in 2006; and sister-in-law, Marion Banfill. There will not be any services at this time.
