Michael Howard Brickey, age 60 of Hesperia, passed away Saturday, January 16, 2016 at his home following a long term illness. Michael was born on September 23, 1955 in Fremont to Herbert F. and Evelyn Alice (Ryker) Brickey. Michael attended Hesperia Schools where he was an outstanding football player and graduated in 1973. Michael met and later married Sandra Van Atter on July 22, 2000 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Michael had owned and operated his own trucking company, Mike Brickey Trucking for many years until his retirement in August 2014. Mike enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle, fishing and the beauty of nature, gaming, traveling to all 48 contiguous United States and was always willing to lend to hand to someone in need. Michael especially treasured however, the time he spent with wife, mother, children and grandchildren. Michael is survived by his wife, Sandra of Hesperia; his children, Patrick J. (Katie Dunn) Brickey of Eden Prairie, Minnesota; Shawna L. (Michael) Loggins of Baltimore, Maryland; Shannon (Kelly) Packingham of South Bend, Indiana; his mother, Evelyn Alice (Ryker) Brickey of Hesperia; his grandchildren, Haley, Ayden, Lydia, Justin, Christian; his brother, Herbert G. (Ann) Brickey of Ionia; 1 aunt and several cousins; special thank you to Mike and Sandras friends, Mike and Dina Morgan of Kalamazoo. Michael was preceded in death by his father, Herbert F. Brickey and by his son, Michael Howard Brickey Jr. Following Michaels wishes, cremation has taken place and no services will be held.
