Michael L. Kasankiewicz, age 64 of Grant, passed away on Friday, August 03, 2012 at the Meijer Heart Center in Grand Rapids. Mike was born on April 20, 1948 in Grand Rapids to Robert and Dolores (Gates) Kasankiewicz and moved to the Newaygo County area in 1988 from Dorr. Mike married Linda Cheyne on October 26, 1965 and she preceded him in death on September 3, 2009. Mike later married Karen Carter on May 12, 2012 at the Ferry United Methodist Church. Mike had worked as a heating and cooling technician and later retired from the Zeichman Manufacturing as plant manager. Mike had enjoyed hunting and fishing in his younger years and recently enjoyed wood working and wood carving. Mikes utmost pastime however was playing golf. Mike is survived by his wife, Karen; his daughter, Renee Bohner of Wyoming; his son, Michael Kasankiewicz Jr. of Port Charlotte, Florida; his grandchildren, Heather, Erickah, Brittney, Holly, MacKenzie Michael; his great grandchildren, Keyara and Aiden; his mother, Dollie Allan of Wyoming; step children, Scott (Barb) Carter; Terry Carter; Kelly Carter; his sister, Linda Sue Smithgall of Comstock Park; his brother, Kim (Elaine) Allan of Wyoming; several nieces and nephews. VISITATION : Monday, August 6, 2012 from 6-8 at Crandell Funeral Home. FUNERAL SERVICES : Tuesday, August 7, 2012 at 1pm at the Crandell Funeral Home Fremont Chapel. INTERMENT : Newaygo Cemetery.
