Michael S. Lawler, age 52 of Fremont and formerly of Lubbock, Texas, passed away unexpectedly on Monday. Michael was born on May 31, 1949 in Lamesa, Texas to O.C. and Alice (Moore) Lawler and married Linda Barron Henson on October 25, 1997 in Lubbock, Texas. Michael and Linda moved to Fremont on September 2000 where he was a customer sales representative for Webb Lumber Company in Fremont and was a member of the River Valley Community Church in Newaygo. Michael was an avid guitarist and next to his family, Christian music was his love. He had been the credit manager at Higginbotham Lumber Company in Lubbock, Texas for 4 years and had been living in Lubbock for 8 years prior to moving to Michigan. He was also past president of the Denver City, Texas Rotary Club and Lions Club and former member of the Denver City Chamber of Commerce. Michael was a former member of Church On The Rock and Trinity Church where he was active in the choir, drama and jail ministry in Lubbock and had been a minister in the Emmaus Community Walks He is survived by his wife, Linda of Fremont; his children, Stacey Lawler; Sarah Lawler and Mark Lawler all of Texas; his sister, Joy Waldrep of Breckenridge, Texas; brothers, Jimmy Lawler of Breckenridge, Texas and Wesley Lawler Camp Wood, Texas; special friends, Delinda & Don Noordyk of Fremont and Michael & Rosetta Henson of Ropesville, Texas along with a host of other friends. Memorial services were held on Friday, July 27, 2001 from the River Valley Community Church in Newaygo and also services were held on Saturday, July 28, 2001 from the Church On The Rock in Lubbock, Texas with interment in the Maple Grove Cemetery in Fremont.
