Michael Earle MacDonald, age 61 of Fremont, passed away Wednesday, March 30, 2022, peacefully at his home. Mike was born on March 24, 1961, in Fremont to Paul Mills and Wanda J. (Moore) MacDonald and married Jodi Lynn VerSluys on September 24, 1983, in Conklin. Mike had worked as a truck driver for Michigan Produce Haulers for many years and enjoyed hunting, farming, and family time. Mike is survived by his children, Autumn Rose MacDonald of Fremont, Michael Eric (Esthela Alvarez) MacDonald of Germany, Christian Tyler MacDonald of Holton, Elizabeth Jean Zimmer-Book of Holland, and Kathy Lynn (Peter) Pickard of Fremont; grandchildren, Robert James Pickard, Hunter Anthony Edward Pickard, Blake Xavier Pickard, Samantha Marie Malik, Scarlett Arya Malik, and one grandchild soon to be born in August; brothers and sisters, Jeanine Oswald of Fremont; Timothy MacDonald (Shirley Harris) of Fremont; Denise MacDonald of Grand Rapids, Burton (Rebecca) MacDonald of Fremont; Suzanne (Dean) Maring of Fremont; and Amy MacDonald of Fremont; many nieces and nephews; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Gloria Aadland of South Dakota, Patsy (Kenny) Burke of South Dakota, Susan Warmuskerken of Michigan, Dewayne VerSluys of Michigan, John VerSluys of Michigan, Dave (Nancy) VerSluys of Iowa, and Dean (Lynn) VerSluys of Michigan. Mike was preceded in death by his son Timothy Burton MacDonald; parents, Paul and Wanda MacDonald; and sister, Marcia MacDonald. A Memorial Service celebrating Mike's life will be held at noon on Thursday, April 7, 2022, at the Crandell Funeral Home in Fremont with Pastor Rick Christy of the Doster Community Church officiating.
