Ward, Michael H. Michael Hugh Ward, age 58 of Fremont, passed away Sunday, September 2, 2007 at his home. Michael was born on December 29, 1948 in Rockford, Illinois to Francis Hugh and Marian R. (Reiman) Ward. Michael has been a resident of the Fremont area for the past 25 years, starting with summers and weekends spent at his home on Long Lake and then a full time resident for the past 7 years when he moved from Naperville, Illinois. Michael graduated from the Michigan State University with a degree in Economics and owned and operated the Ward Agency in Naperville where he specialized in advertising specialties. He served in Army National Guard and attended the First Congregational United Church of Christ in Fremont. Michael took great pleasure in living on Long Lake where he enjoyed family and friends, water skiing, swimming, and boat parades on the lake. Michael is survived by his mother, Marian R. Schulte of Fremont; his children, Andrea Ward of Guilford, Connecticut; Michelle (John) Black of Trumbull, Connecticut; Nicole Ward of Denver, Colorado; Michael J. Ward of Downers Grove, Illinois; 2 grandsons, Marcus and Jorden Black; his sister, Anne (Robert) VandeKieft of Fremont; his brother, Tom (Pam) Ward of Raleigh, North Carolina; nieces and nephews; Fred, Sarah and Liz Patterson and Dustin and Jenna Ward. He was preceded in death by his father, Francis Hugh Ward. Memorial services were held on Friday, September 14, 2007 at the First Congregational United Church of Christ in Fremont with Rev. Ray Dekker presiding with interment in the Sherman Township Cemetery.
