Michael R. Arbogast, age 72, went home to Jesus on January 25, 2023, with his family by his side following a battle with cancer in the hospital. Michael was born in Muskegon to parents Glenn and Crystal Arbogast on June 10, 1950. Michael spent his childhood attending school in Holton where he enjoyed participating in several sports.
After high school, Mike attended Muskegon Community College and later Western Michigan University earning a teaching certificate and Master's Degree in Geography. He began teaching in Hesperia in 1973 and retired in 2007. Throughout his 35 years of teaching and coaching he enjoyed exploring new and creative ways to educate and motivate his students who he referred to as A-team members. He was often told by former students they understood later in life where they were from his state & capitals lessons. In the late 1970's Mike had a dream to live in a log home. He attended classes in the western states and proceeded to build his own home. This led to other's interest and his log home business began in 1985. In 37 years his work shaped the production of over sevenscore unique homes for which he was very proud. In addition to being a dedicated and loving father, Mike enjoyed gospel, bluegrass, and country music; traveling (4 continents); games; and time spent with his wife Theresa, friends, and family. Throughout Mike's entire life, he held an unwavering faith in God and shared it through action, word, and especially musical ministry with his voice in praise songs.
