Delia, Mike Michael P. Delia, age 68 of Hesperia, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, March 30, 2004 in Effingham, Illinois. Mike was born on December 22, 1935 in Hesperia to Pasquale and Antoinette (Amato) Delia and married Sarah I. Martin on September 2, 1961 on Beaver Island. He has been a lifelong resident of the Hesperia area where he was a member of Christ The King Catholic Church and had been very active in the activities of the church. He had worked at Teledyne Continental Motors Company for 30 years where he served as United Auto Workers representative for many years. He enjoyed farming, hunting, fishing, and trapping and especially enjoyed his grandchildren and being the best Grandpa. He will be a grandfather loving remembered and sorely missed by his precious grandchildren. He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Sarah of Hesperia; his children, Michael Delia of Hesperia; David Delia of Hesperia; Rosemary (Tony) Moon of Saranac; Michele (Dave) Thomas of Holton; Louise Delia of Whitehall; Theresa Delia of San Diego, CA; his beloved grandchildren, Mathew and Joshua Thomas; Chris and Ashley Delia; Katelyn Craner and Sally Jo Moon; his brothers, Don (Gloria) Delia of Newaygo; Frank Delia of Hesperia; John (Karen) Delia of Hesperia; sisters, Mary Martin of Hesperia; Rose (Bob) White of Holton; many special friends from the area. He was preceded in death by his parents, Pasquale and Antoinette (Delia) Cordts; his brother, James and nephew Dan Delia. Funeral Mass Services were held on Monday, April 5, 2004 from Christ The King Catholic Church in Hesperia with Rev. Father Mike Albers presiding with interment in the Christ The King Catholic Cemetery in Hesperia. Friends may consider the St. Michaels School for memorial contributions.
