Obituary

Mildred "Milly" L. Splitstone, age 93 of Fremont, passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, May 11, 2019. Milly was born on April 29, 1926 in Hesperia to Henry and Cecilia (Kolander) Lefever and later married Harold "Bud" Splitstone on March 6, 1944 in Angola, Indiana. Bud preceded her in death on August 10, 2014. Milly has been a lifelong resident of the area and was a member of the Fremont United Methodist Church. Milly had worked at the Camera Center in Fremont for several years and later took her talents of quilting to work and became a judge where she traveled throughout the United States and was also an appraiser of quilts for many years. Milly was also a member of the Quilters Hall of Fame, had made over 1000 quilts in her lifetime and enjoyed following Nascar on television. Milly is survived by her sons, Bob (Lynda) Splitstone of Lansing; Michael Splitstone of Fremont; Kim Clayton of Niles; Ted (Sue) Splitstone of Fremont; 4 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild. CELEBRATION OF LIFE SERVICES : Friday, May 31, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. with a TIME OF VISITATION from 12-2pm at the Crandell Funeral Home – Fremont Chapel 7193 W 48th Street Fremont MI 49412. INTERMENT : West Hesperia Cemetery. Friends may consider memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society in memory of Milly.
