Nancy L. Novak, age 79 of White Cloud, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Wednesday, December 2, 2020 at her home. Nancy was born on March 3, 1941 in Traverse City, the daughter of Bayne and Henrietta "Tiny" Hoyt and married Russell S. Novak on September 7, 1957 in Fremont. Russ preceded her in death on June 24, 2020. Nancy has been a lifelong resident of the Robinson Lake area and had worked at the White Cloud Post Office in the late 1960's and then took time to raise her family. In 1990, she returned to the work force and started work at McDonald's in Fremont where she worked until her retirement. Nancy's enjoyed knitting, canning, playing card games and board games with the grandchildren and great grandchildren. She attended many football games where her cowbell was a signature sound heard many times. She enjoyed visiting with anyone and everyone and never knew a stranger. Her true passion in life was her family and attending as many activities as possible for her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Nancy is survived by her children, Connie Nader of Edmond, Oklahoma; Mark (Patty) Novak of White Cloud; Kelly (Richard) Thompke of Kalamazoo; her grandchildren, Jennifer (Patrick) Sloan; Christopher (Ashlie) Nader; Brian (Kelly) Novak; Billi Jo (Michael) McCaul; Heather (John) Barker; Jared Thompke; 7 great grandchildren, Mason Nader, Kailey Nader, Nathan Sloan, Madeline Sloan, Alexis McCaul, Morgan McCaul, and Emily McCaul; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Russ on June 24, 2020; her son-in-law, Michael Nader on October 20, 2020; by her sisters, Irene Esslinger-Bedell and Ginger Bresett. VISITATION : Sunday, December 6, 2020 from 10 a.m. -12 p.m. at the Crandell Funeral Home – White Cloud Chapel 1109 Court Street White Cloud MI 49349. Family members and friends not able to attend the visitation may attend the visitation via Zoom and will need to contact the family for the Zoom link information prior to the visitation. NOTE : during the visitation, a limited number of people will be permitted into the funeral home and friends will need to rotate in and out of the funeral home during the visitation with face coverings being required.
