Nancy K. West, age 69 of Bitely and formerly of Greenville, passed away Friday, February 1, 2008 at the Eaton Community Hospice in Charlotte, Michigan. Nancy was born on January 29, 1939 in Big Rapids and was raised by Leo J. and Florence M. (Cox) Parker. Nancy grew up in the Lansing area and later started work as a Michigan Bell Telephone Operator from 1956 1964. She started work for General Telephone in St. Johns from 1966 1969 and later moved to United Technologies, formerly Alma Products in Greenville, where she worked for 16 years until her retirement. Nancy enjoyed all animals but especially her horses. She is survived by her brothers, Larry (Carole) Parker of Lansing; Rodger (Mona) Parker of Bitely; 4 stepsons, Thomas R. West, James A. West, Stephen R. Bobby West; Michael A. West; close friend, Judy Lynn Morrison all of Lansing. She was preceded in death by her infant son, Kenneth Leo West, and by her father Leo Parker in 2002 and Florence Parker in 2007, who she had moved to Bitely to care for. Cremation has taken place and memorial services were held in Lansing on May 3, 2008 at the Spiritual Episcopal Church in Eaton Rapids with interment in the Walden Hills Cemetery in Bitely.
