Westbrook, Nancy A. "Nanny" Nancy A. Westbrook, age 84 of Fremont, passed away Monday at the Gerber Memorial Health Services in Fremont. Nancy was born on Dec. 13, 1921 in Stockton, Missouri to Ervin and Tressie (Thornton) OConnor and moved to Nowata, Oklahoma when she was 8 years old. She graduated from Nowata High School and had been a member of the Nowata First Baptist Church. She later met and married William Rex Westbrook on Nov. 7, 1945 in Independence, Kansas and they moved to the Aetna Community where they lived on Williams family farm all her life. William preceded her in death on Feb. 24, 1993. Nancy had worked at the Hesperia Variety Store, Dekuipers Mens and Boys Wear in Fremont and managed Jill Joy Ladies Retail Store in Fremont. She was a member of the Aetna Farm Bureau, Aetna Extension Club, Charter Member of the local AARP of White Cloud, member of the Hesperia and Fremont Senior Citizens and Charter Member of the Fremont VFW #6898. SURVIVORS : her son, William Bill (Cheryl) Westbrook of Fremont; her granddaughters, Melissa Westbrook (Tad Millis) of Fremont; Mindy (Brian) Sharp of Fremont; 3 great grand daughters, Briana, Molly, and Morgan Veenstra; 1 great grandson, Tristan Millis all of Fremont. Funeral services were held on Thursday, February 9, 2006 from the Crandell Funeral Home Fremont Chapel with Pastor Phil Jones of the Aetna Calvary Church presiding with interment in the East Hesperia Cemetery. Friends may consider the American Cancer Society, Newaygo County Chapter or Mercy General Health Partners Dialysis Unit for memorial contributions in memory of Nancy.
