Obituary

Nolan, Naomi Adelma (Fowler) Naomi Adelma (Fowler) Nolan, age 88 of Fremont, formerly of Mio, passed away Monday, March 19, 2007 at her daughters home in Fremont following a long illness. Naomi was born on November 13, 1918 in Mio to William John and Ella Orlana (Durfee) Fowler. The family moved to Roscommon when Naomi was two years old where she grew up and graduated from the Gerrish-Higgins High School as Valedictorian of the Class of 1936. She went on to become a registered nurse. On September 6, 1943 she married Daniel Frederick Nolan in Sarasota, Florida and together they made their home and raised their children in Mio. Daniel preceded her in death on December 24, 1992. Naomi is survived by her brother, Bernard (Patricia) Fowler of Grayling; her sister, Jeanne Feldhauser of Grayling; her sons, Ronald Frederick Nolan of Roscommon and Michael Jay Nolan of Danville, Illinois; her daughters, Shelley Jane (John) Braden of Fremont and Carol Ann (Arney) Matthews of Lupton, Michigan; four grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren. Memorial services were held on June 2, 2007 at the Luzerne Baptist Church with Pastor James Durfee presiding and interment in the Luzerne Cemetery.
