Obituary

Nathan D. Moon, age 74 of Fremont , passed away Sunday, July 20, 2003 at his home following a long illness. He was born on April 21, 1929 in Big Rapids to Noble and Bertha (Cook) Moon and married Marjorie Dobben on October 17, 1952 in Fremont. Nathan had been a rural mail carrier from the Fremont Post Office for many years until his retirement in 1987. He was a member of the Rural Letter Carriers Union; member of the Second Christian Reformed Church in Fremont where he had served as Elder, Deacon and had served as a Calvinist Cadet Leader for many years. He enjoyed golfing and traveling to visit his children and grandchildren. He is survived by his wife, Marjorie of Fremont; his children, Randall (Mavis) Moon of San Jose, California; Nancy (Robert) Lapka of Beaverton, Oregon; Charles (Patricia) Moon of Fremont; Dale (Janna) Moon of Fremont; Judith Moon of Dallas, Texas; 12 grandchildren; his sisters, Arlene (Les) Hastings of Ortonville, Michigan; Thelma (Bernard) Coverly of Colorado; Orpha (Max) Teerman of Portland, Oregon; Leora (Gary) Williamson of Muskegon; Elna (Harry) Neiboer of Fremont; Erwin (Sharon) Moon of Fremont; sister-in-law, Anna Lee Moon of Fremont. He was preceded in death by his sister, Ellen Johnson and brother, Marvin Moon. Funeral services were held on Friday, July 25, 2003 from the Second Christian Reformed Church with Rev. Rick Vanderwal presiding with interment in the Maple Grove Cemetery in Fremont . Friends may consider International Aid or the American Cancer Society for Research for memorial contributions.
