Nella Witte, age 74 of Fremont, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, July 28, 1983 at the Gerber Memorial Health Services in Fremont. Nella was born on June 29, 1909 in Holland, Michigan to Peter and Anna (Brinkhouse) Klassen and married John Witte Jr. on January 15, 1931 in Fremont. She has been a lifelong resident of the Fremont area where she was a member of the First Christian Reformed Church; a member of the Helping Hand Society; and a member of the Mary Martha Society. She is survived by her husband, John Witte Jr. of Fremont; one daughter, Phyllis J. (Richard) Crandell of Fremont; two sons, Gordon (Marian) Witte of Fremont; Earl Witte of Grand Rapids; five grandchildren, Lynette Witte; Jonell Witte; Scott Crandell; Curt Crandell; and Julie Crandell; three sisters, Cornelia (John) Luchies; Frances (Ray) Bultman; Lucille (Jay) Poll; 2 brothers, Andrew (Dorothy) Klassen; Marvin (Barbara) Klassen. She was preceded in death by one sister, Margaret Pell. Funeral services were held on Monday, August 1, 1983 from the First Christian Reformed Church in Fremont with Rev. Homer Wigboldy presiding with interment in the Maple Grove Cemetery. Friends are asked to consider the World Home Bible League for memorial contributions.
