Obituary

Hitts, Nettie Mae Nettie Mae Hitts, age 88 of White Cloud, passed away Monday, July 26, 2004 at the Transitional Health Services in Fremont. She was born on March 1, 1916 in Battle Creek to Jay Vernon and Beatrice C. (Lowing) Collins and later married Walter Hitts on July 4, 1953 in Fremont. Walter preceded her in death on April 28, 1990. She has been a resident of the White Cloud area since she was 13 years old and had been a nurses aid for many years. She was a charter member of the Faith Bible Church in White Cloud when she joined on July 26, 1956. She is survived by her sons, Sam Hitts of White Cloud; James Hitts of White Cloud; Lewis Hitts of Manton, Michigan; Rev. Orville (Nancy) Hitts of Romulus, Michigan; Dale Hitts of Kentucky; Larry (Nancy) Hitts of Caledonia; Joseph (Bonnie) Hitts of Wyoming; her daughters, Sandra (Gerald) Dudley of Walkerville; Mary Ann Fetterley of Grand Rapids; Vesta (Robert) Harvey of White Cloud; 30 grandchildren; many great grandchildren; several great great grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Lucille Collins of Muskegon; 5 nephews and 10 nieces. She was preceded in death by a grand daughter, Jill Hitts Parks; great grand daughter, Rachel Rutherford; daughter-in-law, Judy Hitts; her brothers, Lyle, Paul, and Edward Collins. Funeral services were held on Thursday, July 29, 2004 from the Crandell Funeral Home White Cloud Chapel with Pastor Charles Jones presiding with interment in the Oakwood Cemetery in Holton.
