Nina Marie Shaw, age 92 of Spring Lake, formerly of Fremont, passed away Thursday, October 26, 2017 at the North Ottawa Community Health Services Heartwood Lodge in Spring Lake. Nina was born on May 17, 1925 in Grand Rapids to Edward B. and Lela A. (Myers) Travis and later married Theos A. Shaw on March 1, 1952 in Muskegon. Theos preceded her in death on April 14, 2000. Nina moved to the Fremont area in 1978 from Indiana and had been a homemaker all her life and had been a greeter at Walmart for several years until her retirement. Nina had been a long time member of the Order of Eastern Star Magnolia Chapter#70; had been very active in the Fremont United Methodist Church; enjoyed volunteering at the Newaygo Medical Care Facility; enjoyed painting, flower gardening, reading, traveling and especially enjoyed family gatherings.

Nina is survived by her daughter, Vicki (Gary) Brumfield of Fremont; her son-in-law, Rick Estes of Greenfield, Indiana; 3 grandchildren, Travis Brumfield, Ryan Estes and Renae (Tim) Smith; a great granddaughter, Madison Smith. Nina was preceded in death by her husband, Theos; her daughter, Diana Estes on May 29, 2016; her sisters, Rachel Lamphier, Lucille Aldridge, Margaret Hozer and June Carlisle.

VISITATION : Monday, October 30, 2017 from 5-7pm at Crandell Funeral Home – Fremont Chapel 7193 W 48th Street Fremont MI 49412 and Tuesday, October 31, 2017 from 10-11 at the Fremont United Methodist Church. FUNERAL SERVICES : Tuesday, October 31, 2017 at 11am at the Fremont United Methodist Church 351 Butterfield Fremont MI 49412. INTERMENT : Sunrise Memorial Gardens in Muskegon.
