Nora Neva Fischer, age 97, of Tombstone, Arizona and formerly of Fremont passed away on Friday April 20, 2001, in Tucson, Arizona. She was born on June 30, 1903 in Fremont to Dan Hill and Dora (Kurrle) Hill and married Herman Fischer on November 14, 1923, in Newaygo County. She and her husband moved to Arizona in 1946. Nora was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, the homemakers club, and Tombstone Community Church. Nora is survived by her "boys" Jack (Mabel) Fischer of Holton, Kenneth (Lois) Fischer of Benson, Arizona, Herman (Mary Lou) Fischer of Tucson, Arizona; 2 granddaughters, Connie and Ed Hull of Grand Rapids, Debbie and Larry Brant of Fremont; 4 greatgrandchildren, Valarie and Rick VanSickle, Marcie, Ryan, and Kurt Brant; 2 great-great- grandchildren, Alexis and Chase VanSickle; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Herman in 1964 and a grand daughter Jacki in 1979. Funeral services were held on Friday, April 27, 2001, from the Crandell Funeral Home Chapel in Fremont with the Rev. Dan Duncan officiating with interment in Maple Grove Cemetery. For a more lasting memorial, the family asks that friends consider the Tombstone Community Church or Fremont Area Community Foundation for the Endowment Fund of the Fremont United Methodist Church.
