Norma Marlene Boltz, a lifelong resident of Holton, Michigan, passed away on Friday, August 14th, 2026, at the age of 79. Norma was born to her parents; Norman Pederson and Marie (Foulston) Pederson in Fremont, Michigan on March 8th, 1947.
Norma grew up in Holton and was a proud graduate of Holton High School, Class of 1965. After completing her education, she embarked on a fulfilling and impactful career as a social worker for the State of Michigan, working tirelessly out of the Muskegon Heights Office for 30 years until her retirement.
An active and cherished member of the Holton community, Norma was a lifelong member of the Holton United Methodist Church, where she served as a lay leader and took joy in participating in various church activities, which often included participating in funeral luncheons. In 2024, Norma became a member and attended the Sitka United Methodist Church. Norma was also a dedicated member of the Holton School Board of Education from 1985 to 1998, lending her voice and vision to better the educational system for future generations. Her vibrant personality found a special place within the Holton Red Hat Society, where she cherished the fellowship and activities. In her spare time, Norma nurtured a love for gardening, reading and volunteering at the Supper House.
Norma is survived by her children, Cary (Rick) Navarre of Muskegon, MI, Lori (Dave) Wisniewski of Holton, MI, and Ted (Tiffany) Boltz of Muskegon, MI. Her legacy continues in her grandchildren, Katey Gonzales, Ryan (Erin McLaughlin) Gonzales, Emma Wisniewski, Abby Wisniewski, Ethan Helsel, Emerson Helsel, and Evangelyn Boltz, and great-grandchildren, Easton McLaughlin, Blake Bultema, and August Gonzales. She is also survived by her beloved sister, Rose Coon. Norma was preceded in death by her parents, Norman and Marie Pederson, her husband, Elmore Boltz, and her grandson, Samuel Wisniewski.
A graveside service to celebrate Norma's life will be held at Oakwood Cemetery in Holton, MI, on Sunday, August 30, 2026 at 11:00 A.M, with a Celebration of Life to follow at the Holton American Legion. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to Gentiva Hospice, an organization that provided care and comfort in her final days. Arrangements have been entrusted to Crandell Funeral Home - Fremont Chapel.
