Norma L. Pion, age 90 of White Cloud, formerly of Kalamazoo, passed away Sunday, November 26, 2017 at her daughter's home following a long illness with Alzheimer's dementia. Norma was born on October 18, 1927 in Kalamazoo to Philip and Edna (Ennis) Simmons and later married James T. Pion on May 4, 1956 in Kalamazoo. James preceded her in death on August 5, 1999. Norma had worked at James River as a secretary until her retirement in 1989. Norma later moved to White Cloud to live with her daughter and son-in-law. Norma had enjoyed crocheting, reading, animals-especially chickens and her dogs, fishing, and spending time with her grandchildren when they were younger.

Norma is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Jamie (Bart) Pion-Ritter of White Cloud; her grandchildren, Scott Burgoyne; Dodi Hammond; Amber (Mike) Baker; her great grandchildren, Alexander, Evan, and Elizabeth Baker. Norma was preceded in death by her husband, James; her children, Nancy Pion in 1959; Annette Hammond in 2012; Linda Hammond in 2015; Winona Pion in 2007 and her grandson, Rev. James Parker; her sister, Shirley Watts and her brother, John Simmons..

Private services will be held locally and graveside services will be held at the Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Kalamazoo. MEMORIAL CONTRIBUTIONS : Newaygo County Animal Shelter.
