Norman C. Clary, age 82 of White Cloud, passed away Thursday, August 11, 2016 at the Transitional Health Services following a slow decline in his health. Norm was born on May 31, 1934 in White Cloud to Fred and Della (Hathley) Clary and later married Irene Helen Borkowski on June 1, 1957 in White Cloud. Irene preceded him in death on March 7, 1996. Norm has been a lifelong resident of the White Cloud area and had worked at the Newaygo County Road Commission for many years until his retirement in 1998. Norm also had owned and operated his own construction and excavating business for several years as well. He had been the building inspector for Everett Township for several years had served on the White Cloud Fire Area Fire District Board. Norm enjoyed hunting, fishing, had raised elk and whitetail deer, riding motorcycles; enjoyed having horses throughout his lifetime and was an excellent woodworker. Norm was a tinkerer and fabricator and was always working on a project with motors – building, rebuilding and modifying. Norman is survived by his children, Bernadine Kimball of Newaygo; Bruce Clary of White Cloud; his grandchildren, Logan (Candida) Kimball; Heidi Kimball; Coty Clary; his great grandchildren, Kelasondra, Serenity, and Greg Kimball; Cameron Kimball; his brothers, Don (Jo) Clary of White Cloud; Chet Clary of Peoria, Illinois; his nieces and nephews, Don (Laurie) Clary Jr.; Norman Clary; Yvonne Clary; Chuck Clary. He was preceded in death by his brother, Willis Clary in 1985. Following his wishes, cremation has taken place and private graveside services will be held on Saturday, October 1, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in White Cloud with his wife, Irene.
