Opal L. Novak, age 82 of Big Rapids, formerly of White Cloud and Illinois, passed away Sunday, March 1, 2015 at the Spectrum Health Big Rapids Hospital. Opal was born on October 13, 1932 in Bardwell, Kentucky to John and Willie (Cope) Day and later married Don Novak. Don preceded her in death. Opal had worked for American Airlines until her retirement when she moved to the White Cloud area and enjoyed her dogs. Opal is survived by her sisters, Dorothy Phillips; her borther, Cecil Day. She was preceded in death by her husband, Don Novak; her sisters, Ola Thorp, Eulene Marzano; Allene Rhine; her brothers, John Day Jr. and Alvin Day. Cremation has taken place and burial will take place in Illinois.
