Phillippy, Opal F. Opal F. Phillippy, age 95 of Fremont, formerly of Martin, Tennessee, passed away Wednesday at her son Kristians home in Fremont. Opal was born on May 5, 1910 in Weakly County, Tennessee to Albert and Beulah (Stanfill) Farmer and later married Charles H. Phillippy on June 12, 1934 in Weakly County, Tennessee. Charles preceded her in death in 1964. She moved to Fremont in 2003 from Martin and had enjoyed traveling the United States and World. She was a member of the Second Baptist Church of Memphis. She is survived by her son, Kristian (Susan) Phillippy of Fremont; her grandson, Andrew Charles Tyler Phillippy of Fremont; sister-in-law, Emogene Farmer of Martin, Tennessee; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in by her brothers and sister, Hulon Farmer, Mildred Raines and John Farmer. Funeral services were held at the Tiptonville Cemetery in Tiptonville, Tennessee on Saturday, September 17, 2005 with Rev. Michael Farmer presiding.
