Ora Lee Mumford Jr., age 84, of Grant passed away on Thursday, December 3, 2015, at the Newaygo Medical Care Facility in Fremont. Ora was born on March 2, 1931, in Bogota, Tennessee to Ora Lee and Myrtle (Taylor) Mumford and married Carol Halbig on October 6, 1951, in Chicago. Ora had worked as a machinist at E G & G Sealol in Chicago. Ora served our Country in the Marine Corps. during the Korean War and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a life member of the Newaygo VFW Post #4249 as well as a member of St. Bartholomew Catholic Church in Newaygo. Ora is survived by his sons, Danny (Margaret) Mumford of Newaygo and Jim (Antoinette) Mumford of the Netherlands; grandchildren, CJ and Brittani; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded by his brothers, William Mumford and Robert Daniel Mumford and his wife Carol in 2010. Military Graveside services will be held at 11 AM on Wednesday, December 9, 2015, at Hillside Cemetery in Grant (2110 E. 128th).
