Owen C. Smithy Jr., age 76, of Brohman, passed away on Monday, February 18, 2013, at Spectrum Health Services - Gerber Memorial. Owen was born on May 14, 1936, in Lewisville, Arkansas, to Owen Chess and Bessie Cleo (Adams) Smithy Sr. and married Eleanor L. Crenshaw on November 10, 1961, in Flat Rock. Owen was a machinist for General Motors retiring in 1999. He enjoyed fishing, computers, visiting with friends, and attended the Amazing Grace Acres Church. Owen is survived by his daughter Tina Smithy of Holland; sister Jean Stevens of Texas; and his constant companion for the last four years, his dog Chewy. He was preceded in death by brothers and sisters, Elizabeth Jennings, Lilly Chamberlain, Dorothy Chamberlain, Clio Crenshaw, Robert Smithy, and William Smithy. Services are pending at this time.
