Obituary

Pastor James R. Coleman, age 78 of Brohman, passed away Thursday, May 15, 2014 at his home following a lingering illness. James was born on July 28, 1935 in Regina, Kentucky to Alden and Verna (Bartley) Coleman and later married Linda Pennington on December 15, 1955 in Laredo, West Virginia. Linda preceded him in death on October 14, 2004. James had worked in the coal mines for several years before he moved to the Brohman area in 1982 from Red Key, Indiana. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, driving his golf cart and had enjoyed riding his Harley in his younger years. James had been a visiting pastor at several nursing homes in the area and had been active in the jail ministry prior to his declining health. James is survived by his sons, Jimmy (Janet) Coleman of White Cloud; J.J. Coleman of White Cloud; his grandchildren, Joshua, Kia, Lana, Tasha, Mariah; several great grandchildren; his sisters, Evelyn Albright of Red Key, Indiana; Shelby Phillips of Red Key, Indiana; Reba Lowe of Red Key, Indiana; Dorothy Lamb of Red Key, Indiana; his brother, Avery Coleman of Thompson Falls, Montana; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his children, Kathy Kirk, Dorla Soders; Johnny Coleman; Timmy Ray Coleman; Debra Sue Coleman. Memorial services will be held later in the summer following cremation. Friends may consider memorial contributions to the Coleman family, c/o Crandell Funeral Home to assist with funeral expenses in memory of James. Arrangements by Crandell Funeral Home White Cloud Chapel.
