Patricia "Pat" Ann Homister, age 80, of Fremont passed away on Thursday, February 11, 2021, peacefully at her son and daughter-in-law's home in Holton where she had been residing the last few months. . Patricia was born on February 25, 1940, in Shephard, Michigan, to Patrick "Pat" and Doratha (Theyer) Fanning. Patricia loved her time working as an OB Nurse's Aide in Mt. Pleasant before coming to Fremont and driving buses for the Newaygo County Intermediate School District and retiring as a bus driver for the Fremont Public Schools. Patricia had been a resident of the Fremont area for the last 48 years serving her community. Patricia loved watching the birds out the front window and being around her "baby girl" Tippi. She was an avid attendee of her children and later grandchildren's sporting events, and was a loving mother, dedicated grandmother, and friend to many. Patricia is survived by her children, Lee Ann (Mike) Chaffee of Fremont and Martin (Rose) Homister of Holton; grandchildren, Adam (Sarah) Freriks, Beth (Eric) Van Treese, Christopher (Ericka) Freriks, Jamie (Allen) Boucher, Steve Wirt, and Jen (Kevin) Giles; great-grandchildren, Trinity Freriks, Blake Van Treese, Anna Van Treese, Aiden Freriks, Elaina Freriks, Aubrey Freriks, Kaela (Josh Pollock) Carrier, Lizzy Carrier, Emmy Carrier, Jasmine Wirt, Braxten Ward, Nevaeh Wirt, Peyton Wirt, Kinidee Wirt, Layla Giles, and Reese Giles; sister, Joyce (Steve) Zeien; sister-in-law, Earnisten Border; and many nieces and nephews. Patricia was preceded by her brothers and sister, Richard "Dick" Border, Tom Fanning, and Ange Conroy; and great-grandchildren, Rylee Jean Giles and Hanna Marie Wirt. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, May 8, 2021, in Shepard, Michigan at St. Vincent de Paul Church (168 E Wright Ave) with Father Fred Kawka officiating.
