Patricia Kay Franklin, age 70 of Fremont, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 16, 2023 at the Meceola Currie Comfort Home in Reed City following a decline in her health. Patricia was born on January 29, 1953 in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan to Floyd James and Edith Mildred (Towne) Franklin and graduated from Fremont High School and later from Ferris State University with a Bachelor's Degree in Small Business Administration. Patricia wore many hats in her life, but spent many of her working years helping people as a Certified Nurses Aid in several nursing centers around West Michigan. Patricia loved to sew, knit and crochet and create quilts with her mother, Edith. She loved her family and spending time with them and was never one to sit idle her entire life. Patricia loved traveling, painting, had earned her certification in scuba diving and enjoyed ballroom dancing. Patricia is survived by her children, Tracy (Roger) Garlick; Steven (Bobbie Jo) Hannah; April (John) Matson; Heather (Brad) Braginton; her grandchildren, Sara Garlick; Justin Hershberger; Hunter Hannah; Taylor (Tim) Knoll; Ashleigh Hinkley; Drew (Neilon) Dykhuis; Ian (Briana) Dykhuis; Camryn (Cody) Carlson; Ethan Garlick; Emma Garlick; Jack Matson; Elizabeth Matson; Jonathon Hastings; great grandchildren, Jurnee, Elkin, Ebram, Ezra, Everest, Katherine, Malachi, Brandi; her father, Floyd Franklin; her sisters, Carolyn (Doug) Boerman; Marilyn (Terry) Ryskamp; Joyce (Anthony) Plumstead; her brothers, Raymond Franklin; Roger Franklin; David Franklin; Steven (Mary) Franklin; several nieces and nephews. Patricia was preceded in death by her beloved mother, Edith. Following her wishes, cremation has taken place and a Private Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
