Patrick Owen McDaniel, age 63, went to his heavenly home after a long battle with lung cancer on February 11, 2021 with his loving wife at his side. Patrick was born on January 9, 1958 in Grand Rapids, Michigan to Glen and Elaine McDaniel. He met his wife Eleanor Atauvich McDaniel, while they were both in the army and they were married on April 23, 1983. Patrick grew up in Fremont, Michigan and graduated from Fremont High School. He honorably served in the US Army for 13 years as a Field Artillery System mechanic earning the rank of Sergeant First Class. His service included tours in Germany; Fort Hood, Texas; Fort Polk, Lousiana; and combat service in southwest Asia during the Gulf War. He received numerous service awards. After the army career he settled in Cache, Oklahoma. He was an avid TV sportsman watching all types of hunting, fishing, and professional sports. He worked 17 years as a machine operator at a wall board plant in Fletcher, Oklahoma. He is survived by his wife of 37 year, Eleanor of Cache, Oklahoma; his father, Glen McDaniel of Fremont; brothers, Gregg and Denise McDaniel of Fremont; Brian and Lynn McDaniel of Schoolcraft, Michigan; Randall and Terri McDaniel of Portage, Michigan; six brothers-in-laws and six sisters-in-laws: a daughter, Debra and her husband, Eli DeJesus of Lawton, Oklahoma. He was preceded in death by his mother, Elaine McDaniel; his son, Anthony McDaniel; mother-in-law, Rose Yokesuite Atauvich and father-in-law, Ray Niedo. A graveside service was held on February 18, 2021 at the Fort Sill National Cemetery in Oklahoma.
