Pauline A. Demmon, age 96, of Fremont, passed on Saturday morning March 31, 2018 at Fountain View Retirement Village in Fremont. Pauline was born January 29, 1922 in Fremont to George and Frances (Martin) Howarth. Pauline was a member of the Fremont High School graduating class of 1939 and attended Western Michigan University where she met and later married her husband, Franklin Keith Demmon, on June 28, 1941. She worked for Gerber Products Company leading plant tours for several years and enjoyed traveling to Africa, Europe, and Austria with her family. Pauline had worked with the census for Newaygo County, and was a Girl Scout leader. She was a member of the Fremont United Methodist Church and had taught Sunday school, and had been active in Church Circles and the Women's Society. Pauline is survived by her 3 children: Kay Jennings of Fremont, Greg Demmon of Jenison, and Julie (Bruce) Taylor of Grand Rapids; grandchildren, Jason (Lindsay) Demmon, Aaron (Amanda) Demmon and their son Kadin, and Susan Tuttle, Andrew (Tara) Taylor and their girls Violet and Lily, Coty (Andrea) Taylor and their son Nathan; Mallorie (fiancé Thomas Vantrease) Taylor; brother, Don (Evelyn) Howarth of Las Cruses, New Mexico; nieces and nephews, Connie Buck, Tom Howarth, Calvin Howarth, and Gail Howarth. She was preceded in death by her husband Frank in 1999; brothers, Earl Howarth and Harold Howarth; and niece, Kellie Reska. Visitation will be held from 10 – 11 AM on Saturday, April 7, 2018, at the Fremont United Methodist Church. Memorial services will follow the visitation at the Church at 11 AM.
