Peggy Ann Denney, age 58 of Newaygo, passed away Monday, July 1, 2013 at her home following a long illness. Peggy was born on September 24, 1954 in Munising, Michigan to Peter Anthony and Roberta Mae (Cartwright) VanBoxel and later moved to the Newaygo area in 1977 and married Joe Denney on August 8, 1996 in White Cloud. Peggy had been a teacher for the toddlers in Peggys Room at the Kent City Migrant Head Start Program for 12 years and was soon to complete her bachelors degree in early childhood development. Peggy enjoyed arts and crafts, pig figurines, flower gardening, teaching her toddlers but especially treasured the time she spent with her family and grandchildren. Peggy is survived by her husband, Joe of Newaygo; her children, Anthony (Carrie) VanBoxel of Newaygo; Keisha (Craig) VanBoxel of Newaygo; Skip (Carrie) Hall of Newaygo; Jeremy (Rachel) Denney of Newaygo; Heidi (Ben) Rogers of Knoxville, Tennessee; 10 grandchildren; her sisters and brothers, Peter (Kathy) VanBoxel of White Cloud; Ronald (Loy) VanBoxel of White Cloud; Johanna (Leon) Graham of High Springs, Florida; Katie (John) Hammond of Brooksville, Florida; LeRoy (Rhonda) VanBoxel of White Cloud; several nieces and nephews. Peggy was preceded in death by her parents, Peter and Roberta VanBoxel; and by her sisters, Wanda Flourney, Debra Morris, Ann Thompson; and her brother, James VanBoxel. VISITATION : Friday, July 5, 2013 from 5-8pm and Saturday, July 6, 2013 from 10-11am at Crandell Funeral Home White Cloud Chapel. FUNERAL SERVICES : Saturday, July 6, 2013 at 11am at the Crandell Funeral Home White Cloud Chapel. INTERMENT : Big Prairie Everett Township Cemetery.
