Peggy J. Pedersen, age 61, formerly of Newaygo, passed away Friday, April 16, 2004 at the Gerber Memorial Health Services in Fremont. She was born on July 15, 1942 in Pontiac, Michigan to J.D and Peggie Annette (Pierce) McLarty and later married Victor Pedersen on November 17, 1973 in Muskegon. She was a member of the Holton Evangelical Lutheran Church; was a member of the Michigan Motor Maids; member and former secretary of the Fremont Harley Owners Group; member and former officer Fremont Chapter of Ladies Harley Group; member of the Red Hat Society; former member of the Newaygo Chamber of Commerce; had been a 4-H leader and volunteer; representative for Youth For Understanding Foreign Exchange Student Program. She is survived by her husband of 30 years, Victor of Bitely; her mother, Peggie Annette McLarty of Pontiac; her children, Kitt (Bill) Latsch of Newaygo; Kris Knowles of Fremont; Bonnie (Pat) Rettkowski of Warden, Washington; Connie (Bruce) Zerlaut of Fremont; Peter (Kelly) Pedersen of Ruskin, Florida; Gary (Lora) Pedersen of Fremont; her sister, Joyce (Jerry) Kelser of Greenwood, Indiana; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son, Victor E. Pedersen Jr.; her father, J.D. McLarty; her brother, Roger McLarty. Funeral services were held on Tuesday, April 20, 2004 from the Crandell Funeral Home Fremont Chapel with Rev. Paul R. Zager of the Holton Evangelical Lutheran Church presiding with interment in the Holton Lutheran Cemetery. Friends are asked to consider the Fremont Area Community Foundation for 4-H Handicap Riding Program HRH Fund for memorial contributions.
