Peggy Jean Salacina, age 88, of Newaygo passed away on Thursday, November 25, 2021, at her home. Peggy was born on May 1, 1933, to Percy and Dorothy (Melvin) Nunn and married Lloyd Carl Salacina on October 5, 1951, in Newaygo. Peggy was a secretary at the Newaygo High School for many years and was active in many of the high school organizations. She enjoyed knitting, fishing, genealogy, was an avid reader, and feeding and taking in stray animals. She took great pride in her family and cherished the time spent with them. Peggy is survived by her loving husband of 70 years, Lloyd; son Terry (Linda) Salacina of Alpena; grandson, Mikhail P. (Emily) Salacina of Grant and his mother Brenda Salacina-Burgess; and sister, Darlene. She was preceded in death by her brother, Kenneth. There will not be any services at this time.
