Penny Sue Rios-Rivera, age 61 of Hesperia, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, January 18, 2022 at the Mercy Health Partners – Mercy Campus in Muskegon. Penny was born on April 14, 1960 in Fremont and later graduated from Hesperia High School. Penny met and after 15 years together, married Juan Rios-Rivera on July 20, 2018 in Hart. Penny had been a home health aid for many years in the Hesperia community and enjoyed watching the Lifetime Channel, spending time with her grandchildren, indoor gardening, and in her younger years – dancing, playing Bingo, gardening, working in her yard and online shopping. Penny is survived by her husband, Juan Rios-Rivera of Hesperia; her children, Rachel (Aniceto) Garza-Pinales of Hesperia; Damian McCann of Muskegon; Melanie (Juan) Mejia-Huerta of Hesperia; Sonia Davila of Hesperia; Miguel Davila Jr. of Hesperia; 8 grandchildren; her sisters, Royetta Bayle of Hesperia; Sandra Sorensen; her brother, Richard McCann of Hart; and loved group of patients she took care of during her years of home health aide services. Penny was preceded in death by her mother, Charlotte McCann; her father, Olie Castle; her sisters, Shelly Burns, Candice Hicks, and Christie Jimenez.
