Peter G. Pete: Dore, age 78 of Fremont, passed away Tuesday, January 11, 2011 at the Spectrum Health Gerber Memorial Hospital in Fremont. Pete was born on September 24, 1932 in Holton to Roch and Georgia (Hysell) Dore and later married Nancy Hills on July 6, 1957 in Brunswick. Nancy preceded him in death on April 11, 2009. Pete had worked in the label room of the Gerber Products Company for several years and in 1977 became a partner in Fremont Lanes Bowling and Summer Breeze Par 3 golf course until his retirement in 2004. Pete also served on the Fremont Police Department as a part time police officer for 22 years and was longtime member of the Fraternal Order of Police. Pete served in the United States Army during the Korean War and was a member of the Holton American Legion. Pete enjoyed golfing, bowling, gaming, traveling, snowmobiling and spending time with his family and friends. SURVIVORS : his beloved daughter, Cynthia Dore of Fremont; sisters and brother, Theresa Rottman of Fremont; Charley (Gayle) Dore of Holton; Mary Follett of Holton; several nieces and nephews; god daughter, Willow Massie of Rothbury; special friends, Rick & Phyllis Plankett of Brimley; John & Judy Clapp of Fremont; Michel Jordan & Kevin Carr and family of White Cloud; brothers-in-law, Jim (Pauline) Hills of White Cloud; Bob (Imelda) Hills of Petosky. He was preceded in death by his son, Peter G. Opie Dore II on October 3, 1980 and by his sisters, Elaine and Marcia Dore.
