Philip Andrew Baumgartner, age 58, of Brohman passed away on Sunday, January 19, 2020. Philip was born on July 20, 1961, in Petoskey, to Thomas H. and Shirley M. (Fuller) Baumgartner and married Cathy Lee VanLiew on October 10, 1981 in Brohman. Philip was a hunter and fisherman and enjoyed building and re-purposing just about anything. He was a mechanic but many saw him as a "jack of all trades." Philip was proud to have been on the Merrill Township Fire Department for seventeen years.
Philip is survived by his wife, Cathy; children, Joshua (Jamie Maine) Baumgartner and Jerimiah (Jessica) Baumgartner; grandchildren, William Baumgartner, Raelin Baumgartner, Angel Baumgartner, Dominic Reynolds, Luke Cox, Ashton Stephenson, Audri VanDyke, Jordan Baumgartner, Natalia Baumgartner, and Gunner Mills; brothers and sisters, Linda (Barry) Bazaire, Ellen Throop, Dan Baumgartner, Becky Canavan, Tom Baumgartner, Lydia (Joe) Thatcher, LouAnn (Ove) Graham; and Henry (Randy) Baumgartner; and many nieces and nephews. Philip was preceded in death by his parents, Tom and Shirley; and brother, Richard J. Baumgartner.
