Philip Norman Olson, age 80 of Detroit, formerly of Fremont, passed away in Detroit. Philip was born on October 10, 1940 in Minot, North Dakota to Valdemar and Elsie Olson and graduated from Fremont High School in 1958. After graduation, Philip attended Michigan State University and then enlisted in the United States Air Force and was stationed at K.I. Sawyer Air Force Base in the Michigan Upper Peninsula. Philip married Margaret "Olga" Martinez in 1966 and then later divorced and he married Lois Eichorn in the early 1980's. Philip is survived by his son, Eric (Deana) Olson; grandson, Carver Olson all of Fort Worth, Texas; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Philip was preceded in death by his parents, Valdemar and Elsie and his brother, Jerry Olson. Memorial Services will be held on Tuesday, March 23, 2021 at 3pm at the Crandell Funeral Home – Fremont Chapel with Military Honors under the auspices of the United States Air Force and the Newaygo V.F.W. Sportsman's Post #4249.
