Phyllis Kay Barnhard, age 65 of Grant, passed away Thursday, July 9, 2009 at the Newaygo Medical Care Facility in Fremont. Phyllis was born on February 26, 1944 in Fremont to Lawrence and Mary (Mikolich) Halverson and graduated from Fremont High School in 1962. She met and later married Robert Bob Barnhard on August 29, 1965 in Bridgeton. Phyllis had been a waitress at Samuels Restaurant in Fremont and also at the Valley Inn in Newaygo for several years until her retirement. Phyllis enjoyed watching the birds and riding bicycles in her younger years. Phyllis was a member of the Community Fellowship Church in Bridgeton. Phyllis is survived by her husband of 44 years, Robert Bob Barnhard of Grant; her children, Kevin Barnhard (Malinda Simons) of Grant; Kraig Barnhard of Grant; Tanya (Sean) Smith of White Cloud; her grand daughter, Kayla Smith of White Cloud; her sister, Delores (Ron) Dagen of Fremont; her brother, Vic Halverson of Grant; her brother-in-law, Don (Doris) Barnhard of Grant; several nieces and nephews. Phyllis was preceded in death by an infant son and by her parents. MEMORIAL SERVICES : Monday, July 13, 2009 at 3pm at the Fellowship Community Church 5755 W Fellowship Lane (off from Warner) in Bridgeton.
