Phyllis R. Coon, age 88 of Twin Lake, passed away Friday, January 31, 2020 at her home following a lingering illness. Phyllis was born on May 8, 1931 in Greenville to Clifford and Racheal (Hough) Garlick and graduated from Greenville Public Schools. Phyllis has been a resident of the Twin Lake area for over 40 years and had worked at Wolverine Worldwide shoe manufacturing and was a homemaker raising her family. Phyllis had been an active volunteer at the Shiloh Food Pantry in Muskegon for over 20 years and was a member of the Redeemer Lutheran Church in Fremont. Phyllis married Walter Coon on March 17, 2003 in Muskegon and Walter preceded her in death on June 27, 2019. Phyllis had enjoyed knitting, crocheting, quilting, playing cards, gardening outdoors, fishing and camping. Phyllis survived by her children, David (Cherrye) Morris of Grand Ledge; Roy (Nancee) Morris of Portland; Linda (John) MacQueen of Minnesota; Debra Morris of Howard City; Carol Skowron of Grant; Glen (Vicki) Morris of Fremont; 15 grandchildren; 36 great grandchildren. Phyllis was preceded in death by her brothers, Carl Garlick and Morris "Bud" Garlick.
