Phyllis J. Heft, age 79 of Fremont, passed away Sunday, December 24, 2017 at the Newaygo Medical Care Facility in Fremont. Phyllis was born on October 11, 1938 in Fremont to Daniel H. and Ruby Clara (MacLaren) Bacon and graduated from Fremont High School in 1957. Phyllis later married Walter Heft on July 19, 1958 in Fremont and Walt preceded her in death on December 28, 1995. Phyllis has been a lifelong resident of the Fremont area where she had been the manager at Samuel's Restaurant in Fremont for many years and was also the manager of Rolling Ladders Antique Store in Fremont for several years prior to her retirement. Phyllis enjoyed visiting with friends in the community, loved to go camping, was well known for her great cooking and treasured the time she spent with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. A special thank you to the girls on Sunflower lane for the care and compassion given to Phyllis the last few years. Phyllis is survived by her children, Tamara (Chris) Wilson of Fremont; Carmen (Michael) Froehle of Fremont; Danelle (Glenn) Vogel of Fremont; Robert (Jasey) Heft of Fremont; 10 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren; her brother, Charles Bacon of Fremont; her sisters-in-laws, Barbara Bacon of Fremont and Jane Bacon of Goodyear, Arizona; her brother-in-law, Ed Heft of Kettering, Ohio; several nieces and nephews. Phyllis was preceded in death by her brothers, Robert Bacon and Dan Bacon and her sister Anne Shirley Bacon.
