Phyllis Jean Johnson, age 65 of Brohman, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, July 16, 2001 at her home. She was born on June 28, 1936 in Grand Rapids to Norman and Bessie (Riddle) Black and married Raymond H. Johnson on May 25, 1955 in Hesperia. She has been a resident of Newaygo County for the past 30 years where she was a homemaker. She was well known for her card and stationary decorating and enjoyed writing to her many pen pals. She is survived by her husband of 46 years, Raymond; her children, Linda (Sid) Tubbs Sr. of Hopkins, MI; Janice (John) Stank of Grant; Leslie Johnson of Florida; Ken (Tommie) Johnson of Florida; Christine (Robert) Billingsly Jr. of Florida; 11 grandchildren and 1 great grandchildren. Funeral services were held on Thursday, July 19, 2001 from the Crandell Funeral Home Chapel in White Cloud with interment in the Hillside Cemetery in Grant.
