Phyllis I. Wakefield, age 75, of White Cloud passed away at her home with her family at her side. Phyllis was born on May 2, 1939 in Munising, to Floyd Phillip and Rosella Evelyn (Bower) Groh and was a full time mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great great grandmother. She enjoyed crocheting, cards, word search, music, and reading. She was a lifetime member of the VFW and past auxiliary president of the White Cloud Eagles #4170. Phyllis is survived by her partner, Lucky Brantley; children, Bethann Stagman of White Cloud, Donna Owens of White Cloud, Linda Canavan White Cloud, Butch (Donna) Wakefield of Alabama, and Misty (Tony) Brantley of White Cloud; many grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Bill Groh of Woodland Park, Mary Adams of White Cloud, Roseanne (Dale) Smith of California, and Floyd (Sharon) Anderson of Florida; and many nieces and nephews. A private family service will be held at a later time. Memorial contributions may be made to the family to assist with funeral expenses.
