Randy W. Chaney, age 59, of Rancho Mirage, California died at his home on September 28, 2021. He was diagnosed in early September with cancer and died three weeks later. Randy was born on December 17, 1961, in Ann Arbor, Michigan, to William C. and Nella W. (Clouse) Chaney Sr. Although Randy was raised in Michigan, he lived for a short stint in New York in the 1980's and then relocated to California where he lived in Los Angeles, Banning, and then Rancho Mirage. Randy attended dog grooming school where he received his diploma of completion in dog grooming. Randy is survived by his friend and companion of 33 years, Roger Everaert of Rancho Mirage; brothers and sisters, William C. Chaney Jr. of Nashville, Tennessee; Delores (Bryon) Proctor Sr. of Holton, Michigan; Christopher (Lori) Tracey of Dallas -Fort Worth, Texas; Barbara (Bob) Hornof of Fremont. Michigan; Naomi Ruth (Ed) Waterman of Holton, Michigan; Richard Tracey of Wetherford, Texas; Vicki Woodcox of Rapid City, Michigan; Cindy Jo McPherson of Kalkaska, Michigan; and Jackie Tracey of Mancelona, Michigan; nieces and nephews, William C. (Holly) Chaney III; Roger (Michelle) Chaney; Joseph (Josh) Host; Jason (Brandie) Host; Bryon II (Jenny) Proctor; Josh (Sarah); Ashley (Nick) Ott; Chris (Emma) Hutchins; Chris Bussing; Angel Neff; Tommy Neff; Dominique Neff; Donald White; Bryan White; Aaron Waterman; Ami Parker; Christi (Brian) Chilson; Marcy Mexico; Veronica (Xen) Lammers; Nicki (Joe) Russell; Samantha (Matt) Kelly; Lewis (Tasha) McPherson; Johnathon McPherson; Joshua (Misty Sparks) McPherson; Andrew McPherson; Timothy Halloran; Chrystal Barber; Tracy (Brad) Denoyer; Terri (Joni) Lamar; Todd Woodcox; his uncle, Phil Chaney of Fremont, Michigan; step-mother, Mamie Reasoner of Wetherford, Texas; his first cousin Lorrie (Bob) Barnes of Lawton, Oklahoma; as well as many other cousins, nieces and nephews. Randy was preceded in death by his mother, Nella W. Dollaway; father, William C. Chaney; sisters, Cyndi Chaney, Sherri Dollaway, and Alice Tracey; and infant brother, Samuel C. Dollaway. A Memorial Service for Randy will be held on Sunday, November 21, 2021, at 3 PM at Sanctuary at Holton Family Life Worship Center in Holton, 8473 Holton Road Holton, Michigan 49425, with a luncheon following the service at the church.
