It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Rashad Dennis Mackie, who departed this life on Sunday, February 9th, 2025, at the age of 44. Rashad was born on Thursday, July 31st, 1980, and lived a life full of love, laughter, and adventure until his final day.

Rashad was a man of many talents and passions. He loved tubing, music, and the water, often being the life of the party with his infectious laughter and joyful spirit. Rashad was known for cracking jokes, posting TikTok videos, and sharing his culinary creations, always making sure those around him were entertained and well-fed. Above all, Rashad loved his children fiercely and unconditionally, dedicating himself to their happiness and well-being.

Rashad is lovingly remembered by his mother, Neata (Scott) Rollston, his father Randolph Mackie Jr., and his children: Tiana, Joshua, Veronica, Taliah, Isaiah, Edward, Safire, Ethan, Silas, and his beloved bonus daughter, Taylor, and his step-brother Travers (Gabriella) Rollston. He is also survived by his siblings: Randolph (Diaz) Mackie III, Christina Mackie, Omar Mackie, William Mackie, Randell Mackie, his step-brother, Travers (Gabriella) Rollston as well as his grandmothers, Sarah Sharp and Jonsie Mackie. Rashad will be deeply missed by several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and an abundance of friends who cherished him dearly. He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Randolph Mackie Sr., and Johnnie Twiggs, his beloved aunt, Renee Mackie-Owens, his sister, Cortelia Turner, and daughter, Lilliana Tetro.

A Celebration of Rashad's Life will be held at New Life Church in Grand Rapids, MI, on Saturday, February 22nd, 2025, at 12:00 pm. Following the service, a reception will take place at the same location at 1:00 pm, where family and friends will gather to remember Rashad. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to assist with the unexpected incurred expenses. The family would like to extend their gratitude to all who have offered their condolences and support during this difficult time. Arrangements have been entrusted to Crandell Funeral Home - White Cloud Chapel.
