Ray Charles Frodey, age 92, of Fremont passed away on Friday, April 29, 2016, at his home. Ray was born on September 6, 1923, in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania, to Charles and Carolyn (Mering) Frodey and married Arlene on January 8, 1982. Ray proudly served his country as a pilot in the Army Air Corp. during WWII. Ray was an organic chemist and vice president retiring from Gerber Products Company in Fremont. He was a charter member of the Fremont Rotary Club, member of MENSA, and published author. Ray was an environmentalist, avid shooter, and enjoyed hunting and fishing. Ray had a passion for photography and traveled the world with Arlene photographing nature. Together they enjoyed scuba diving and underwater photography. Ray is survived by his wife, Arlene; children, Carol Frodey, Christine (Ray) Drommond, and Michelle (Eric) Hutchins; step-children, Mike Smith, Merrilee (Chuck) Reisling, and Jack (Kim) Smith; 5 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; and brother, Dave Frodey. Interment was in Maple Grove Cemetery. A Celebration Of Life for Ray and Arlene will be held from 1 - 3 PM on Saturday, June 17, 2017, at the Frodey home.
