Raymond H. Hoffman, age 74 of Fremont, passed away Friday, May 25, 2001 at the Spectrum Health Blodgett Campus in Grand Rapids. He was born on February 13, 1927 in Chicago, IL. He retired from the FDIC in 1985 and moved to Fremont. He was an active member of the All Saints Catholic Church where he was a scripture presenter, a member of the CSA Diocesan Board, a member of the Knights of Columbus and bible studies teacher at St. Joseph Catholic Church in White Cloud. In addition, his many interest included theology, history, and Sherlock Holmes. His personal library consisted of over 2500 volumes. Mr. Hoffman served in the United States Army during World War II and later served in the Naval Reserves. He was a graduate of St. Marys University and attended Georgetown University and later obtained a Masters Degree in Theology from the Seminary of The Immaculate Conception. He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Arlene G. Hoffman of Fremont; his children, Elizabeth (Jim) Bradley of Florida; Alexandra (Mark) Zimmerman of Pennsylvania; Jessica (Mike) Nelson of Virginia; Victoria (Tim) Marshall of Virginia; Hillary (Joe) Lober of Virginia; Meredith (Joe) Thompson of Virginia; Vernon (Teresa) Gray of Midland, MI; Melody Gray of Fremont; 15 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; cousin, Rev. Fred Krause and his many friends. Funeral Mass was held on Wednesday, May 30, 2001 at the All Saints Catholic Church in Fremont with Rev. Father Richard VanLente presiding. Interment in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Fremont. Friends may consider the All Saints Catholic Church Scholarship Fund for memorial contributions.
